THE MONARO PLAINS - Anthony Lawrence (May 2012) Wooden crosses a vanishing point wired for talk a watercolour bleed of low clouds, windbroken pines a charcoal rubbing of lost connections ~ you are here passing through uncoupled is a state of rhyme what the eye reveals the mouth extends in clipped syllables depth of field a black rain squall of starlings on a hill Words: Anthony Lawrence (Used with author's permission) Picture: Geoffrey Dunn
Tolles Bild, passend zum Text. Mein Auge folge den Holzkreuze und führte mich so durch das Bild.

Thank you Claudia. I took this photograph from the car while travelling back from an artist retreat on the weekend. Anthony (the poet) was driving at the time.

Excellent pairing that also maintains its strengths as separate pieces.
The poet and I witnessed the same countryside in the same light as we returned from an artist retreat. When I saw Anthony’s words I knew just the picture to put it to. Thanks Elena 🙂
I love this photo of lines of poles crossing each other – seeing the fence as one, too. The tones in the picture are exquisite and the brownish-greenish touch to the monochromatic expression enhances the mood of the picture. For me the softness of the elements, the strong composition and the stillness in the picture all makes for a wonderful and expressive vision.
This brings back so many memories from my past in America, Geoff!
