A Little Piece of Me
Dark
I feel it’s pull
tangible as a kiss never realised
Cold
the space between
whirling sheets of colour
Light
a piercing clarity
precision at a price
Warmth
strangely within
Life
unfurling
a fern glowing against shadow
(August 2013)
Lovely pairing of image with your words. The intersection of nature and human nature is revealed.
Thanks Sally 🙂
I’d recently fallen out of the habit of publishing pictures along with the thoughts that run alongside in my mind.
Quite Beautiful.
Only quite? ;-P
Love this, there's something truly magical about a fern unfolding and I love the words you wrote too. Just beautiful.
Thank you Kathryn 🙂
They’re wonderful aren’t they? So compact and orderedly beautiful 🙂
A wonderful post where the picture and the poem complements each other beautifully. I love the blue tone you have imerged the fern in, as well as the use of limited depth of field. Very nice.
Thank you Otto … always a pleasure to have visit! 🙂
Magical and beautiful. Do the words encapsulate the photo, or the photo the words? They belong together. Thank you.
I can never work that out Sue … they’re always way too interwined and tangled for me to separate them properly 🙂

Thank you xx 🙂
beautiful pairing of words & image
Thanks Vickie 🙂
i like the style and the rhythm of those verses. and the picture is wonderful – as ever 🙂
Thank you dear. It feels good to get back into the swing of composition 🙂
i know what you mean. i wrote a kind of thoughtful text to a single picture yesterday as i did it regularly years before. it felt nice just to let the words flow out of my brain into my blog.
I went and read that piece (read great!) on the weekend right after I saw your reply and went to leave a comment when the wi-fi at the cafe died and took my comment with it! I’ll drop by and leave it again 😉
thanks 🙂
Welcome 🙂
Oh, how very beautiful!!!! Thank you. Mari
Thanks Mari 🙂
A beautiful progression from dark to life . . .
It’s exactly how I feel these past few weeks Patti 🙂
Wow, fantastic poem – a bit zen with a meandering balance (and the photograph is so beautiful) 🙂
Hi Gabe … thanks. It means a lot coming from someone who writes as well as you do 🙂
