On a monochrome kick.
Step into the white mist at the foot of the stairs …
Sometimes I find colour distracting. When I feel like this I like to strip the colour out … bring the photograph back to basics so speak. Let tone and contrast and form tell their stories of how they work together to create something your eye can interpret as clouds, as stairs … as a face … as light and dark. Strip off the gloss and the patina … return to an essence.
I think I know what you mean. Sometimes colour just doesn’t seem right. Both of your pictures work very well stripped bare like this. But please don’t walk into the light 😉
Oh but the light’s so deliciously warm … step in it’s lovely 😉
Oh, hold on, it’s warm you say? Now, that’s different. I don’t even remember warm, I’m in 🙂
Toasty warm … you remember that?
Personally, when all the elements coalesce, there is nothing that can touch the mood, sensuality and tone of a monochrome. I’m a total devotee to black-and-white. Nicely done.
I know you like the monochrome Sally 🙂
WOW,WOW,WOW – ALL TOO BEAUTIFUL FOR WORDS!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!1
Wow, incredible.
Thanks … clouds can look even more amazing in B&W 🙂
Fab abstract in the first one. A true painting.
Thank you Pedro and welcome to Pictures with Words 🙂
What an impressive set of monochromes – both images are incredibly powerful either in their force or quietness. I love the dramatic cloud formations and your play with light and shade. You’ve captured the mysterious atmosphere in your second image brilliantly. Fabulous work!
Cheers Martina … I’m seriously considering getting the cloudscape picture printed large … I think it’ll look cool!

Google translate version: Wow, what a powerful cloud game. I like the shapes but also the many gradations and nuances of color from white to black.
When “staircase image” I felt joy. Joy because of the life manchal the dark leads, but again and again into the light, to see! In order to develop our character, our thoughts and reality, it requires time and again experiences in the dark, but also their way back into the light. This is life!
