Faint breeze and sunshine
cricket chirp and flycatcher calls overlay the oceans rhythmic white roar
occasional slap
unexpected silences - an absence
I stare until the scene turns white - sound painting abstracted spikes and swirls
I think of you then, distant
in space and spirit both
yet in that instant - that void
I am connected by more than I know

Powerful words and image.
Thanks Kathryn 🙂
Love. love this. The contrasts are mesmerizing.
Might post the colour version sometime … it looks delicious too 🙂
Geoffrey, this photograph and the one of lovely Greer are beautiful, would have to name them as my favourites . The poem …I like.
Judith, glad you like. The ‘pictures with words’ idea is something relatively new to me but feels great to do … quite cathartic and I love the idea of being able to communicate my thoughts in two mediums simultaneously.
Always lovely to have you visit … thank you.
Geoff, eine wunderschöne Aufnahme! Durch die knapp gehaltene Schärfe hebt sich die Muschel ab und stellt sich schön ins Zentrum. Die schwarz-weiss Umsetzung ist sehr gelungen.
Gruss
Claudia
Google translate version: Geoff, a beautiful shot! Due to the terse definition is lifted from the shell and presents itself beautifully to the center. The black and white conversion is very well done.
greeting
Claudia
You do have a great way with your images and words, Goeff! I love this.
I love it!
A nice weekend!

Thanks for stopping by Julie 🙂
What a beautiful poem to go with your marvellous image. I love the textures and that fabulous shallow depth of field. Your framing is excellent too, as always. Many compliments.
Thanks Martina, I’ve only recently begun to set some of my photographs to words. Sometimes they just go so well together and really they are an extension – an adjunct to my creative process. The process is unlocking many creative doors for me 🙂
Now I understand!!! Beautifully worded and worthy of deeper thought!!!
Thanks Marialla … glad you liked 🙂
beautiful words Geoff…and matched with a perfect image
Hey Ally, long time no see 🙂
Thank you … for both!
